Ashwagandha is known as an adaptogen which helps the body adapt to stress and stay in balance. It is traditionally used in Western medicine to help calm the mind, soothe nerves, relieve nervous tension and reduce symptoms of mild anxiety.

This really depends on the individual. For some people the benefits are within an hour, for other people it can take longer. Some people do not realise the benefits until they stop taking it. It all depends on the individual!
Our Ashwagandha is guaranteed not to be irradiated. Unfortunately the majority of other brands are.
We don’t recommend that people with an auto immune condition take Ashwagandha as it can trigger the immune system.

A meta-analysis found that taking specific ashwagandha root extracts at various doses for 6-12 weeks can modestly improve overall sleep, including sleep quality, latency, duration, wake time after sleep onset, and efficiency, especially in individuals with insomnia, higher doses (at least 600 mg daily), and longer treatment durations (at least 8 weeks), although there is some heterogeneity in the included studies; additionally, a specific ashwagandha extract at 125 mg daily for 6 weeks led to a 72% improvement in sleep quality in patients with non-restorative sleep, along with small to moderate improvements in total sleep time, sleep latency, and awakenings when compared to a placebo.

A meta-analysis of seven clinical studies involving healthy adults, individuals with chronic stress, or those with psychiatric conditions indicates that taking daily doses of ashwagandha ranging from 240 mg to 1000 mg for 8-12 weeks can effectively reduce stress levels compared to a placebo, with various studies reporting reductions in perceived stress levels, cortisol levels, and even stress-related weight gain.
